Hello lovelies,
I'm so sorry I didn't share this post sooner but sometimes life just gets in the way. Summer is now coming to an end but I still want to share this post with you guys in case you're lucky enough to be jetting off to a tropical island escape while we head towards winter. (In which case I'm very jealous!) Without further ado, here are my top 10 island escape essentials:
1. Cute Bikini/One Piece
For obvious reasons! I'm in love with my Tigerlily bikini and classic style one piece from Show Pony. 2. Wide Brim Hat & Some Stylish Sunnies
Perfect for protecting yourself from the sun while looking super cute and stylish. 3. Cute Floral Playsuits/Dresses
To relax in while you sip a few cocktails by the pool. 4. Body Scrub
I loooooooove these 2 body scrubs I've been using lately - Soap & Glory's Breakfast Smoothie Scrub and Life's a Beach Coconut Scrub. Both smell so delicious and scrubs are great for scrub off dead skin so your skin is glowing and prepped for some fake tan. 5. Gradual Tanner
Perfect for building up a tan during your holiday but without the damaging side effects of a natural tan. This Bondi Sands gradual tanner gives you the most natural looking tan you won't even be able to tell that it's fake! 6. Sun Tan Oil
I'll be honest, sometimes I just like the look and feel of a real tan, but this Reef sun tan oil has SPF15 so does give your skin the extra protection while letting your skin darken slightly. If you prefer not to damage your skin at all, they also have an SPF30 lotion. 7. A Tropical Fragrance
Such as this Juicy Couture one gets you in the mood! 8. Bronzer and Highlighter
For accentuating that glowing face! 9. Moisturizing Lip Balm and Shampoo and a Liquid Lipstick
Sometimes sand and salt water can wreck havoc on our features including our lips and hair. Make sure you take extra moisturising shampoo, conditioner and lip balm! It will be a life saver! And a liquid lipstick can't hurt for a lasting pop of colour on your lips. 10. Travel Journal & Passport
Definitely the most important item you will need! I love having my travel journal to document all the cool adventures and all the experiences I have when travelling. And this one from Kikki.K is super cute!
What are your summer essentials when escaping on an island holiday? Let me know in the comments below!
Ahh what a week! I’m on mid-semester break at the moment but it feels like anything but a holiday. Probably because I’ve been desperately trying to catch up all my lectures I’ve foolishly skipped over the last few weeks. I also had my annual Vet Ball on the weekend which was so much fun, although my poor feet took a bashing dancing around in heels until 4 in the morning.
Today I’m sharing with you my favourite beauty products of the month, which I’m super excited to share with you guys because I think I am in love with all of these products more than any other products in my previous monthly favourite posts. 1. Hourglass Ambient Light Palette
I received this amazing palette from my sister for my 21st birthday last month, and have been using it everyday since, especially the middle colour, incandescent light. I use it as a highlighter on top of my cheek bones and while they don’t give a dramatic highlight, they do give a subtle glow making our skin appear brighter and healthier. And while the difference is subtle it is definitely noticeable. While the price is expensive, I feel the quality does not disappoint. The powder is fine and minimises appearance of pores, making it an everyday go-to for me. 2. Stila Stay All Day Liquid Eyeliner in Blackest Black
I’ve used this eyeliner a few times now and I am in love with it. It drys a matte black which is hard to find in some cheaper drug store eyeliners and I love the felt tip. Although it dries out fairly quickly so be sure not to leave the lid off and give the eyeliner a good shake before use! 3. Maybelline Lash Sensational
Okay so I’m probably a little late to the game with this one, but I think this is my new favourite drug store mascara! I have loved The Colossal by Maybelline for some time now, so decided to give this one a go when I read heaps of good reviews and I love it! It makes my eyelashes super long and separates them well giving a fan effect. I would say it is different to The Colossal, maybe a little less volumising but I love how long my lashes look after using this mascara. Obsessed. 4. Coco by Chanel Eau de Toilette
Another 21st birthday present! This spray is so different to any of the other perfumes I own. I tend to go for sweet and floral scents but Coco is perfect for night time with its spicy and sensual fragrance. 5. Too Faced Melted Lipstick in Peony
I love the colour of this lipstick, perfect for everyday and matches almost any outfit. The formula is very pigmented and long lasting too! I’ve got quite alot of use out of this product in the last month. 6. MAC Matte Lipstick in Taupe
This lipstick is probably my favourite beauty product of the month. I only bought it two weeks ago but have worn it almost everyday since (when I’m not wearing my Too Faced Liquid Lipstick). I LOVE this colour! I went to the MAC counter to try out Velvet Teddy, a colour that almost every beauty blogger talks about, but the girl at the counter suggested to me this colour and I am so glad she did! It’s similar to Velvet Teddy only darker, slightly more brown and far more striking. I had so many compliments the first day I wore this lipstick and felt as though my make up looked more mature than if I had worn my usual pink lip products. 7. Too Faced Chocolate Bar Eyeshadow Palette
And last but not least this amazing eyeshadow palette! I have wanted this palette for so long, so when I received a gift voucher for Mecca Maxima for my 21st I knew exactly what I wanted. And I was not disappointed! I love all the colours on this palette! I haven’t had the chance to play around with them all on my eyelid yet, but the ones that I have I absolutely love. This palette has a good selection of matte, shimmer and glitter shadows so you could do a complete make up look with this palette, and for that reason alone I would higly recommend this palette. The colours also blend like a dream and the whole thing smells like chocolate. You can’t go wrong!
Hope you all enjoyed this post! What beauty products have you been loving this month? I’d love to hear from you guys!
And I have heaps of clothes to shoot, so look out for more posts coming soon! Kelly xx
Today I am sharing my Beauty favourites from June! At the end of exams I had a major beauty splurge in Mecca Maxima and in various drugstores, so I have heaps of new products but today I decided to share with you guys my favourites. 1. Maybelline Baby Skin Instant Pore Eraser
This gel like formula feels absolutely amazing on my skin and makes applying foundation so easy! And it really does erase my pores. 2. Maybelline Brow Drama Eyebrow Mascara in Medium Brown
I’m not really into super dramatic eyebrows, so I chose the lightest colour of this product. While I’m not sure if the darker colour would be suitable for those who love dramatic eyebrows despite the name of this product, I love how this brow mascara sets my eyebrows in place all day as well as giving them a natural looking tint. 3. Revlon Colourstay Foundation
I’ve been watching heaps of Kathleen Lights on youtube recently (if you haven’t heard of her and are a make-up junkie, you will fall in love with her channel) and she raves about this foundation being her favourite drug store foundation. And I can see why! With my skin drying out during these winter months, I chose one for dry to normal skin. This foundation doesn’t cling to my dry spots and builds up to a full coverage, it’s perfect for winter! 4. Nyx Baked Blush in Journey
These blushes are subtle but pretty and I like how they’re not too sparkly. The colour I got is a cooler pink so looks really pretty on the skin in winter! 5. Nyx Jumbo Eye Pencil in Cottage Cheese
These jumbo pencils have great pigmentation and look great as an eyeshadow base. I’m interested in trying this colour as a highlight too! 6. Too Faced Candlelight Glow Highlighter
I am in love with this highlight! It’s as pretty on the inside as it is on the outside (it’s packaging)! There are two colours inside including a pink and yellow based highlight. Both look so pretty on my skin and while this is the first highlighter I’ve bought, I definitely feel this is an amazing product! 7. Too Faced Natural Matte Palette
This is my FAVOURITE beauty item of the month. The colours of this palette are amazing and they blend better than a chocolate milkshake. It’s such a versatile palette as you are able to create soft looks for the day time and dramatic looks paired with a cat eye liner flick for a night look. 8. Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara
Again this month I have been loving the Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara. I included it again as I have been loving it even more since the formula has dried up slightly after opening it a month ago. It’s a lot easier to apply now and my eyelashes look longer and thicker for it. Does anyone else find their mascaras work better for them about a month after opening? Let me know in the comments below if you also have this dilemma!
I hope you all enjoyed this post, and look out for part two of my June favourites where I’ll be talking about my favourite accessories of the month! Kelly xx
So when I was home two weeks ago I had a massive splurge at Mecca Maxima. It was the first time I had bought beauty products from there, and I think I’m hooked. I’m just dreaming of next weekend I’ll go home and hopefully be able to buy more amazing beauty products! So it is no surprise most of the products have landed in my beauty favourites this month. I know it’s not technically the end of the month but I’m so excited to share them with you! 1. Too Faced Chocolate Soleil Medium/Deep Matte Bronzer
As new beauty guru I only just discovered the how amazing this chocolate-smelling, cheekbone enhancing bronzer really is! I used this bronzer in my previous post, and hope to use it for an event next week so I may have to upload a selfie just to show guys how amazing it product is! 2. Manicare Eyelash Curler
My old eyelash curler was a cheap one from the supermarket, this one curls my eyelashes nicely without pinching my eyelid. Such a great investment! 3. Too Faced Anti-Crease Eyeshadow Primer
I’d never used eyeshadow primer before but after hearing heaps of great review about using eyeshadow primers in general I thought I’d give too faced’s primer a try seeing as I was in Mecca Maxima. It was fairly cheap - only $26 - and gives such a stunning result. It literally keeps my eyeshadow looking fresh all day. I’m in love with it! Although this is the only primer I have tries, I definitely recommend it! 4. Maybelline Colour Tattoo in Edgy Emerald
I really like the colour tattoo series and this would have to be my favourite colour of the lot! It’s such a pretty mermaid colour and I wore it in my last post! 5. Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara
I’ve been a devoted lover of the Maybelline Colossal Mascara for too long so I decided to branch out and try a more expensive mascara and I’m glad I did! This mascara seriously pumps up my eyelashes without clumps. I also found it’s more glossy than the Colossal and the hourglass brush shape makes it easier to reach the smallest lashes. The only drawback I’ve found is that it seems to rub off quicker than my Colossal mascara - however still a newfound favourite!
Hope you all enjoy the end of your week! I know I will, now that I’ve completed an exam I had today! Yay! Kelly xx
