Summer in Red

Princess Polly Dress, Supre Berret, Famous Footwear Shoes, Sportsgirl Bag

Long time, no post! Today I am wearing this pretty little red dress from Princess Polly and I don't think there's ever been a dress that is more me. I love the frills, the off the shoulder details and the colour - I've always been a sucker for red dresses! I can see myself wearing this dress all summer long.

Besides enjoying my freedom from uni by laying around on the Gold Coast beaches these past two weeks, I have not been up to much at all! I finally feel in holiday mode and I get to graduate this week finally, which is so exciting! I am still in shock that I have made it to this day but can't wait to start work and lead a much more balanced life of only working 40 hour weeks (instead of 60 hour weeks with assignments on top as I have been doing the past year!) Next week I am then heading off to Bali for a much needed holiday and I'm hoping I'll be able to get a post up on this blog to document my time there.

Hopefully, actually having free weekends again next year will mean I have much more time to focus on this blog which I am really looking forward to. Expressing myself creatively has always been important to me and I know my mental and emotional health suffers when I deprive myself of time to be creative. So next year focusing on this blog and developing myself creatively is going to be a big focus of mine. There are quite a few things I've been wanting to try and experiment with on my blog and I have a feeling next year is going to be my most creative and productive year yet. So keep your eye on this space, I'm hoping to make some big changes and a whole lot of progress here in the new year.

What Winter? | Daisy Dresses & Shearling Jackets

Just a quick little outfit of the day post today to say hi! Firstly can I say where the heck has winter disappeared to? I wore this cute daisy dress from Dissh Boutiques yesterday while exploring New Farm in Brisbane on an unusually warm Winter's day. And here I was all geared up for the so-called coldest winter of the century.

Anyway, I love the pattern and the colour, and feel like it's perfect layered with a shearling coat to give just a little bit of warmth.  It was such a fun day, but now I am back into the uni work. I am currently on my last ever week of 'holidays' before I become a vet! It's so surreal! And while I'm a little scared (or actually a lot), I'm also super excited. But first another 3 assignments, 4 exams and 12 weeks of placement to battle through.

I hope you guys enjoyed this post and little life update. I really want to write some more in-depth posts soon. I was thinking about my journey through vet school, or my university experience in general, and how I've been juggling uni with my blog this whole time. I think it would be a great way for me to reflect on these last few years of my life that are quickly coming to an end, and so that you guys can get to know me a little better. Let me know what you think in the comments below!

Just a quick outfit post as I totally forgot to upload my blog post on Wednesday even though I said I would on Instagram! (@anneinthedollhouse) Anyway, I hope you enjoy this post just as much. It's another wrap dress, the second one I've found to actually suit me! I love the mustard yellow colour a polkdots, it's so me! This dress is currently on sale at Dissh Boutiques, so if you're interested, get in quick! That's all from me today, have a lovely weekend!

P.S. I hope you enjoy the autumn feel of this shoot even though it still feels like summer at the moment in Australia!

Summer Evenings in my Little Orange Polka Dot Dress

Supre Orange Polka Dot Dress, Assembly Jacket, Converse Sneakers, The Horse Watch, Pandora Bracelet

This time of year is my favourite. Not only for the festivities that take place but also the warm, pleasant evenings and amazing sunsets at the end of the day. It's so nice to go for an evening beach stroll after your dinner, watching the sky turn from blue to orange and orange to purple. I also love the organisation mode I get in; reflecting on my progress over the past year and setting goals and making plans for the next year. Anyway, this will be my last post before Christmas, so I hope you all have a Merry Christmas! I'll be posting again next week, so stay tuned!

Also, let me know if the comments below, what are your goals for the coming year? They could be career, fitness, health, study or beauty related! Either way, I'd love to hear! Hearing other's goals gives me extra inspiration and motivation for setting and achieving mine!

Strapless Gingham

I am so glad it is finally spring. I just love the sight of flowers blooming, the daylight lasting longer and most importantly the flowy and dreamy dresses that come into stores in Spring like this strapless gingham number I'm sharing today. I can't wait to wear this, enjoying a picnic in the park or visiting some local markets, if I ever get some down time on the weekends - which seems to be non-existent at the moment thanks to endless mid-semester exams. Never fear though, mid-semester break is coming soon (at least this is what I keep telling myself as I'm cramming in my lectures on spinal surgery in dogs this weekend) and I'll definitely be getting out in the sun and hopefully documenting it over on Instastories and through my Instagram posts. (My username is @anninthedollhouse in case any of you would like to follow along!) For now though, I need to get back to study. Hope you're all having a lovely weekend.

How I Styled the Lazy T-Shirt Dress for a Casual Night Out

Factorie T-Shirt Dress,  Assembly Denim Jacket, Lovisa Earrings, The Horse Watch, Sportsgirl Clutch, Windsor Smith 'Grinded' Boots

I styled this outfit for a night out at a Vallis Alps concert in Brisbane the other night. Believe it or not it's actually a men's T-shirt! I just love how comfy and versatile shirt 'dresses' (or men's t-shirts) can be! I wanted a casual but put together street-style look so I started by pairing the dress with a denim jacket and black leather boots. I then added these amazing purple fluffy earrings from Lovisa for a fun pop of colour that transformed the look into a more girly and fun style. And for practicality added this plain black fold-over clutch which I feel matched the look perfectly.

I definitely feel like this look was perfect for a casual night out, especially the comfy T-shirt dress which helped hide the massive dinner I had! Overall I had an amazing night, Vallis Alps were amazing, their music is entrancing and mesmerizing, and they were even better live than I expected. Have you guys heard they're playing at Splendour in the Grass this year?! I'd definitely be keen to go just to see them again! Hope all is well with all of you, speak soon.

Mary, Mary quite contrary, how does your garden grow? | OOTD featuringPrincess Polly

Princess Polly Dress, Sportsgirl Bucket Bag, Cotton On Frilly Socks, K-mart Boots, Ofra Long Lasting Liquid Lipstick in Malibu
Evening lovelies,
I’m so excited that exams are over and it is finally summer here in Australia! I have so many new clothes I recently bought as an end of exam treat and I can’t wait to style them and shoot them for you guys.
These photos were taken on my little escape this week to Montville (another post exam treat courtesy of the boyfriend) and I felt this artsy and relaxed fitting dress was perfect to wear while exploring this quaint little town.
I am particularly in love with the purple embroidery of this dress paired with the baby pink fabric. So simple yet pretty! And this ofra lipstick is simply to die for, I am in love with colour! It may have cost me an arm and a leg in shipping from the U.S. but I would definitely have to say 100% worth it. I think I am due for a beauty favourites update soon!
I am so happy to finally be blogging again, chat again soon!

Like seeing stars and endless nights, for you I’ll be waiting

Popcherry dress
Hi guys, here is the second set of photos from my horsey shoot! I love how the setting sun accentuates the white lace of my dress, I definitely believe I saved the best photos for last. I hope you guys enjoyed these series of photos as much as I enjoyed spending time with these ponies!
Finally mid-semester exams are over and I can’t wait to get back into organising more blog posts! It’s become such a hobby of mine and I’ve noticed an increase in the number of comments and vistors I have to my site lately which is super rewarding, so if you’re reading this post I’d like to thank you!
And if you’re in love with these photos make sure you check out my friend’s facebook page: www.facebook.com/MHPhotography5

Latest Formal Addition: Navy Lace

Popcherry dress, Lipstik Shoes
I recently wore this dress to our end of semester dinner at uni, and got a tonne of compliments so I thought I would share it with you guys today! Navy is such an in colour at the moment and the lace detail of the back is absolutely beautiful! Also just recently bought these shoes from Showpo.com. They’re so adorable and I love how they give me height without having to wear actual heels!
This week is study week for me, but that also means holidays are near! So stay tuned for more amazing things soon.
Enjoy the rest of your week!

What I Wore to Tea

I just love cute events like tea parties, and even more I love to dress up for them! To my high tea over the weekend I wore this pretty aqua loose fitting dress from Tobi and a flower crown created by me! I hope to put these up on my etsy shop soon so watch this space! In the meantime you can check all my other cute etsy creations here. I’m also carrying my little black Mimco pouch, which is so handy and versatile, I love it!
And needless to say, the food was incredible and the tea was divine! Hope you all enjoy the rest of your week!

Last Days of Summer in my Little Black Sun Dress

Hi all,
This week is the last week of summer in Australia, aka my last week of holidays. I’ve been spending it in Brisbane with my boyfriend and yesterday on our evening stroll we snapped these shots walking along the bicentennial bikeway and in West End.
I got this dress last week from Bardot, it was fairly exy but luckily I received it as a late Valentines gift ;) l I love how simple, yet pretty it is for a day out and about. The racerback with the zipper is probably my favourite feature of the dress. Being 100% viscose it’s also super comfortable, which is a must in this Aussie heat.
I purchased this woollen floppy hat on e-bay last year for $11! I’d seen them everywhere in the shops but they were all at least $30, so being me I took a look on e-bay to find one for a third of the price! And if you look here, you will find one I scavenged for even cheaper just for you guys! You can thank me later (or in the comments below!).
I hope you all enjoy the rest of your week and if you’re a uni student about to head to school like me, I wish you luck for the coming semester.
